Food Security Assistance

At MARADO, food security assistance is a cornerstone of our efforts to support vulnerable communities in Somalia. We aim to combat hunger, improve access to nutritious food, and foster long-term self-reliance through the following initiatives:

  1. Relief Food Distribution:

    • Providing emergency food aid to internally displaced persons (IDPs) and other vulnerable groups, ensuring they have access to essential sustenance during crises.
  2. Agricultural Training and Support:

    • Empowering local farmers with knowledge and resources to improve agricultural productivity.
    • Offering tools, seeds, and techniques to boost crop yields and reduce reliance on food aid.
  3. Livestock Development Programs:

    • Supporting pastoralist communities by enhancing livestock care and management.
    • Providing training on disease prevention and improving animal productivity.
  4. Fishing Skills Development:

    • Promoting fishing as a sustainable livelihood through training and equipment distribution.
    • Enhancing skills in fish preservation and marketing to improve food availability.
  5. Sustainable Practices:

    • Introducing climate-resilient farming techniques to mitigate the impacts of drought and flooding.
    • Encouraging community-led initiatives that strengthen food systems.
